Gears of War: Reloaded Review: What went wrong?

Initially, fans were eagerly waiting for Gears of War: Reloaded to launch. The game was released for PlayStation and Steam this week, but almost no audience showed up for the same. The game witnessed a very low player count and poor reviews. There are a few reasons that are being held responsible for the disappointment. Let us quickly discuss them:

Missing features from previous games

According to sources, the game has a lot of missing features from its previous releases. Gears of War: Reloaded is the second remaster of its original 2007 launch. But users have complained that this new launch is missing some of the main features that were present since its original game release. The missing features include no lobby browsing, no editor present, and being unable to rebind certain controls.

Missing local co-op mode

The local co-op mode of Gears of War: reloaded is completely missing from the PC version. Although the marketing team advertised it, PC users still cannot play the game with the co-op mode. Even though it was promised during the launch announcement. So the players are rightfully upset about this issue. According to sources, the game’s marketing team removed all the claims of having a co-op mode from its launch trailers and other advertising places. This made the issue even bigger as the audience is viewing it as a scam.

Pre-order issues

People who have pre-ordered the game couldn’t find access to some of the items that were promised in the pre-order. Although Microsoft and the Coalition team have accepted this issue, any relief from their side is yet to be received.

Game crashing frequently

Gears of War: Reloaded crashed frequently on Steam. This became one of the major reasons why players completely lost interest in playing it. It majorly crashed while players were changing the graphical settings of the game. But there were also other places where the game crashed immediately, including linking it to a Microsoft account, or when firing up the multiplayer mode. So playing the game without it getting crashed became nearly impossible.

Summing it up!

The mentioned issues are just a handful of reasons. But they are big enough to upset the fanbase of any loyal video game. The same happened with Gears of War: Reloaded. It is speculated that these reasons led to a major shortage in the number of players as the game is still suffering to have a good impact.

The makers of the game are waiting for it to become a hit in the gaming industry. But the audience is waiting for these issues to be fixed. So that they can play one of their favorite games without any missing parts, issues, and half-met promises.

That was all about Gears of War: Reloaded Review. Since the game launched this week, fans are all hoping the developers will act quickly and fix the necessary problems. But only time can tell if they will listen to the audience’s unfulfilled demands. Or if Gears of War: Reloaded will keep suffering the way it did in the first week of its release.
