Nikhil Yadav, the accused who committed the murder of his mother, initially denied all the allegations of the crime. According to the police report, he initially said that him and his mother were attacked at their home by robbers in which he lost his mother. But his misleading the police tactic didn’t last long. Since the police recovered stolen gold jewellery and other valuables from him.
The problem started when the accused, Nikhil, started playing online games, and it turned into an addiction. He particularly played the “Aviator” game hosted by tirangagamee.games, where he lost substantial amount of money and came under heavy debt situation.
Then, the problem grew when he started taking more loas to repay previous loans. But instead of solving the problem, this further cemented his debt issues.
There’s more to the story!
According to the police report, to repay his debt, he had taken multiple app-based loans. He did this through platforms such as M Pokket, Flash Wallet and RAM Fincorp, accumulating thousands in debt, including high-interest and hidden charges.
When the loan repayment deadlines approached, and he had nothing to pay them off, he retired to the option of robbing his mother’s jewellery. According to DCP Nipun Agarwal’s statement, on Friday, October 3, his mother, Reshma Yadav, caught him red-handed taking her ornaments. This led to a heated argument between mother and son. During the argument, he allegedly bludgeoned her to death. And to make the scene look like some outsider’s work, he ransacked the house to make it look like the work of robbers.
According to the statements from DCP Nipun Agarwal, flanked by Additional DCP Ralapalli Vasanth Kumar and ACP Rishabh Runwal, Nikhil also called his father after killing his mother and fleeing the scene. He narrated a fake story to him. He stating that unknown assailants had broken in their house and attacked both him and his mother.
How he got caught?
But despite the fake stories, the technical surveillance and CCTV footage helped track down the accused and solve the murder mystery. The postmortem report confirmed multiple injuries to the victim’s body. Nikhil fleeing the crime scene with his mother’s jewels also raised suspicion.
A joint team of Lucknow’s PGI police station, surveillance cell and the South Zone crime team caught him. They arrested Nikhil from Fatehpur district where he also confessed to his crime. Nikhil has been booked under BNS Sections 103, 238, and 315. The deputy police commissioner rewarded the investigating team with ₹25,000 for successfully cracking the case. Further legal proceedings are underway and yet to be disclosed.
