Amazon Games: The recently released James Bond game, 007 First Light, has been in the limelight for quite some time now. Developed by IO Interactive, the game has received massive love from global critics and gamers as well. The game has done so well with the audience that it sold 1.5 million copies in the first 24 hours of its launch. That made the game break records even for the Hitman game series, which was supposedly the inspiration behind creating this one.
All these things have made such an impact on the world of gaming. The impact is so big that the head of Amazon Games, Jeff Gattis, has announced the sequels to this game. And Amazon Game Studios will develop this sequel.
This big announcement came after the interview of the GM of gaming at Amazon. He stated that “they didn’t have the full rights to this First Light James Bond game. But its sequels will be done by MGM and, theoretically, by Amazon Game Studios.”
The James Bond game is self-published by IO interactive. But in his interview, Gattis made it clear that it won’t be the case in the future. He further explained, “We did not [make First Light]. We do have a stake in it because we now own the IP, but that IP acquisition happened after the First Light IO deal was already done.”

Why is Amazon Games doing this?
If we are to believe the rumors, Amazon Game Studios has a serious reaspn to do this. So far, they haven’t had any luck in launching their own AAA games. By joining hands with IO Interactive and acquiring the rights to this James Bond game, they might achieve success in this business as well. And with the ending that 007 First Light had, there’s surely room for a new game. But what will be more interesting is to see how the sequel comes out. Also, how it performs after all the recent developments in 007 First Light’s story.
