The chasing team has to defend the flag for 60 seconds with all their will and might. The focus is on mind games + map control, not just shooting. Because these 60 seconds decide who wins the game. You can surely get your flag back and defeat your opponents. But for that, you have to be good at chasing them, hunting them down, and shooting them.
